Solutions · Renewable energy
Keep the energy you already made.
Pair renewable generation with storage so that surplus becomes revenue instead of curtailment.
The challenge
What gets in the way.
01
Generation peaks at the wrong time
Solar is strongest when the grid wants it least, and weakest when demand rises.
02
Export limits waste output
When generation exceeds what the connection allows, the surplus is simply lost.
03
Weather moves faster than schedules
Cloud cover and wind ramps change output inside a single time block.
How Loopgain helps
What you get.
- Surplus generation stored instead of curtailed
- Energy shifted to the hours when it is worth more
- Ramp smoothing so fast changes never reach the grid
- Forecasting and dispatch run as one loop
Common questions
Why add a battery to a solar or wind plant?
Solar and wind produce power when the weather allows, not when it is most needed. A battery stores surplus energy and releases it later, helps the plant stay on its schedule, and smooths fast changes in output before they reach the grid.
What is curtailment, and how does storage reduce it?
Curtailment is generation the plant cannot export, usually because of a connection limit or a grid instruction. A battery absorbs that surplus and releases it when export is allowed again, so the energy is sold instead of lost.
